What Is Your Story?
Giving to charity makes you feel good, strengthens personal values. It is more impactful than ever.
Last week I joined my friend Andy Cruttenden CEO of Martello on a gruelling 10km walk at Folkstone Highest Peak in preparation for his 26miles walk in raising funds for the #macmillancancersupport. Our walk took 2 hours and 30mins. He shared stories of inspiration and why he has embarked on this walk.
Here are some of the reasons I asked to frame this picture and put it on my wall of achievement in my office:
- I have never walked for 2 hours 30mins for 10km uphill in gruelling hot weather.
- I conquered my Fear of Height, climbing the highest hill in Folkstone Kent.
- I learned about the Power of Giving. It is the best feeling ever it Sticks in your memory knowing your effort is helping lives in challenging times and your mindset opens to possibilities.
Thank you for inviting me to this practice walk. I also want to thank you for the numerous businesses that have sponsored. Your Mum would be so proud of you.
When you choose to give, you may not realize that donating to charity will do more than just help your favourite cause, giving can also provide you with many personal benefits. Whether you choose to donate to charities supporting people living in poverty, advocating to protect the environment, helping animals in need, or addressing other global or local problems, charities need your help to continue their selfless initiatives, but giving can feel just as good as receiving.
